Sports

1. Winter sport athletes who are interested in playing softball, come tryout this Friday at 2:00 in the softball field. You must bring a glove. See Ms. De Leoń in Room 113 for more information.

Club, Class News & Announcements

1. Attention all seniors: Sweaters will be sold today for $25.00 in Room 73.

2. Do you have a crush? Well, yearbook wants to know all about it! Next week starting February 12 there will be a table in front of the senior quad ready to take your ballots. All you have to do is get a piece of paper, fill it out and put it in the box. Come by and tell us all about your crush!

3. Peer tutoring is available Monday and Wednesday in the Career Center, Room 64. Drop by! Students are eager to assist in any way they can! Learning is fun!

4. Attention students: There is no school on Monday, February 11th to observe Lincoln’s birthday.

5. Hey all you Brothers & Sisters in Christ! There is a meeting on Thursday, February 7 at lunch in Room 114. Remember, everyone is welcome.

6. E.R.F. Club Cabinet: There will be a meeting tomorrow during lunch in Room 223. Upcoming events will be discussed.

7. Hey all you underclassmen! Key Club is interested in adopting some of you as potential cabinet members! Also, Key Club will be reading to elementary school students in the near future. Join us in room 100 every Tuesday for more information about these events and events soon to come.

Staff

1. Staff – The American Cancer Society is sponsoring a “Relay for Life” fundraiser for cancer research on June 7th and 8th at Buena Park Junior High. We have been asked to form a team. If you have an interest and/or want to have more information, please contact Beth Swift. Thanks!

2. The National Gallery of Art invites teachers to apply for a 6-day seminar that explores the art and culture of 17th Century Holland. Sessions integrate art, social science, and language arts through examining the Gallery’s collections. For information go to www.nga.gov/education/teacinst.htm or see Beth Swift. Application deadline is March 15th.

3. “Financial Smarts” a workshop for teachers, get good financial advice from Cal State Fullerton professors and others and get paid a $50 stipend to receive it. Email Barbara Sideri @CSUF to register for the Saturday, February 16th, class (8:00 am to 1:00 pm) bsideri@fullerton.edu or call (7a4) 278-2249.

4. Staff, I could use your help with Honors Testing of 8th graders on Saturday, February 23rd. Teachers would need to arrive by 7:30 and you would be finished by about 10:30. Please let me know if you’re interested in earning a little extra $$ to help a good cause. Thanks! Beth Swift
