Club, Class News & Announcements

1. Attention all students:  UCI Medical Center and the Key Club need your help.  Key Club will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, March 18 in the small gym. Any student interested in sharing the gift of life is encouraged to donate blood.  Those interested have to be at least 17 years old on or before the 18th of March, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health-no flu or cold symptoms, and not have had a tattoo in the last 12 months.  Sign-ups will be in the quad starting March 10th thru the 14th. All donors will receive a certificate for a pint of Baskin Robbins ice-cream or a t-shirt for participating.  Give the gift of life and donate!!

2. Attention CSF Members:  Please come to Dr. Swift’s Room 51 Wednesday, March 12, during lunch to pick up your fundraising charts.

3. Due to an unfortunate glitch, the CSF member drive is extended for a few more days.  So if you didn’t turn in your application in, you have only until March 14th.  Don’t delay.

4. Students interested in a responsible volunteer experience:  The California State PTA invites students between 15 and 21 years of age to apply to participate on a variety of commissions and committees.  This might involve missing a few classes each year, so you must be willing to make-up missed assignments.  But you will develop leadership skills and probably do a little traveling too.  If interested, pick up an application in Room 26 today because it’s due Saturday!

5. There is a GSA meeting Thursday during lunch in Room 75.  Spring Festival will be discussed.  We’ll have a great time!

6. People to People Club Members:  There’s an important meeting today at lunch in Room 51.  We need to write our German pen pals.

7. Attention Key Club Members:  There will be a meeting today at lunch in Room 100.  The Blood Drive will be discussed.  Please bring your blood drive forms.  Thanks.

8. Students – If you know of a senior planning to go to college who has survived cancer, please let them know that there is $7,500 scholarship available for “Young Cancer Survivors.”  They can contact one of the counselors or Dr. Swift for more information.

9. Attention National Honor Society Members:  There will be an important meeting on Friday, March 14 in Room 34 at lunch.  Seniors, it is mandatory for you to attend!  Please save the date and be there.  Thank you and see you then!

10.   Attention all Seniors, Juniors and anyone interested in a possible Air Force career:  An Air Force representative will be on campus at the career center at lunch, Wednesday, March 19.  Learn about the ASVAB test, how to receive $70,000 in college tuition and training in your choice career.  Pizza will be provided!  Sign up at the Career Center.

11.   AP Testers there are still over 300 students that need to pay for approximately 600 AP exams.  Please see Marin Doria if you’re paying $76 per exam or Mrs. Chow if you’re paying $5 per exam.  Students must show that they are eligible for the $5 fee through the free & reduced lunch form or the 1040 tax form.  Deadline is in 2 weeks.

12.   Attention Students:  If you participated in the Safety Drill and are interested in receiving documentation for community service hours, please see Ms. Henry in her office after school or on the quad at break and lunch.

13.   Attention Seniors:  If you ordered Graduation Announcements from Jostens, you may pick them up TODAY during lunch.  Look for the Jostens table near the cafeteria.
