Sports Announcements 3. Don’t miss the Coyote Players in the final play of the season, Don’t Drink the Water. From the comic genius of Woody Allen comes this hysterical play about communists, spies, New Jersey caterers, and a priest who loves card tricks! This evening of great fun and lots of laughs plays May 14 – 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the PAC. Don’t Drink the Water plays for three nights only, so don’t miss it! 4. Attention Students: Do you have children’s books that you are not using? Or are you willing to buy some books to help a child? The Bible club will be collecting children’s books for ages 3 – 11 from 2nd period classrooms. Books that are new or almost new would be most appreciated. All books collected will be donated to a Philippine orphanage. The class that donates the most books will be given a pizza party. Collection will be from May 12th - 23rd. 13. AAA Students: Turn in your $11.84 and your completed Field Trip Permission slip to Dr. Swift in Room 26 or 51 ASAP. Let’s be ready for our field trip on May 27th. 15. Spring is here, Lets all give a cheer, It’s time to listen up, And hear the music of spring, If music is what you enjoy, Come on down to the PAC, May 22 and 23 at 7 pm, come listen to the music, As the band, choir, and jazz band perform, Then be treated to a surprise, As pageantry takes the stage, In a dazzling performance, So come on down to the PAC, $6 with ASB, General admission just $7, So come have fun to the sound of music. Good luck to all! Club News 5. WHY…..do we do the things we do? March 12th – 16th at lunch in Room 114, the Bible Club will have S.P.E.W., which stands for Spiritual Emphasis Week. A guest speaker will be at each meeting for questions and answers. 14. CSF Members: Firld Trip Permission slips are due to Dr. Swift by Friday at the end of lunch. Also, you must pay any CSF fines before you are allowed to go on our field trip to Disneyland. See Dr. Swift today in Room 26 or 51. 16. Key Club Members: There will be an important meeting Tuesday, May 20 at lunch. International Day and the elections will be discussed. 17. Attention NHS Members: There is an important meeting today at lunch. Upcoming events and International Day will be discussed. ROP 6. ROP summer schedules are available and it is time to enroll. See Ms. Curtis in Room 25 to find out what classes we offer & sign up. 7. Do you want to take Auto Technology in the summer? Learn to make web pages, videos and music on computers, stop by Room 49 to check out the cool, new computers. See your counselor to add it to your schedule today! Class News 1. Attention Sophomores & Juniors: Have you always been the one that people come to when they need advice? Do you like to help other people? If so, you might be a perfect candidate for PALS (Peers Assistance and Leadership). We are currently accepting new members for PALS. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Herreros or Mrs. Henandez in Room 25 for an application. 2. Attention Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: Are you friendly, outgoing, and love to meet and greet new students? Then S.O.S. is for you! Stop by Mrs. Oja’s desk in the Guidance Office to pick up an application to join S.O.S.--the Student Orientation Service--for the upcoming school year. SENIORS 9. Attention seniors: Have you applied to Cypress College, but have not taken the placement test? If so, then pick up a Cypress College Field Trip Permission Slip form from Room 64. We will be going to Cypress College to take the English and Math placement test. Permission slips are due back to the Career Center today, so hurry only 50 spots are available. 10. Are you going to a 4 year college and have no money to pay for college? Do you want to become a teacher? If you answer yes to these questions, then come to the Career Center to apply for the Ken Bell Scholarship, it is worth $5,000 for BPHS students only. Deadline is today. Staff 1. Teachers, I am recruiting S.O.S. volunteers for the 2008-09 school year. We are in desperate need of male students for this program. (It seems boys are little less likely to volunteer.) If you know of any students who you feel would make a great S.O.S. volunteer—especially if they are fluent in more than one language—please encourage them to volunteer for S.O.S.
