Boys Tennis

Congratulations to the boys’ tennis team and coach Frank Saiz for dominating Anaheim yesterday. The team was led by Joshua Choi who swept all three sets and is currently on an 8 set win steak. John Elizarraraz and Sila Thach swept their doubles match. Romelo Balandra and Victor Tran won 2 of 3 sets.

Softball

The girls’ softball team swept both games this week winning 18-1 on Tuesday and 20-8 on Thursday over Bolsa Grande. The team was led by Enia Moya who picked up her first win and Jackie Jiminez who won her third game this year. Great Job Coach Deleon and Coach Scott.

Baseball

The baseball team is currently on a 5 game win streak with a win over Artesia on Wednesday 14-2. The winning pitcher was Larry Hansen. Efrain Mendoza is has a team leading 500 batting average. Robert Bruce has two homeruns. The team opens league play today against defending league champion Sonora at home.

Track & Field

Congratulations to the Boys’ Varsity Track team for defeating Fullerton Yesterday 94-33. The team was led once again by captain Mitchell Ramirez who won the 200, 400 and was part of both relays. The team completed the dual meet season 7-1 and 4-1 in the Freeway League. League Finals will be next Tuesday and Thursday at Buena Park for all running events with the field events on Monday and Wednesday at Troy. Come watch the team compete for a chance to earn a part of a freeway league championship in track. Please congratulate any runners that you may have in class.

Wrestling

Congratulations to the varsity wrestlers for their outstanding performance at the CIF championships on Friday and Saturday. The wrestlers finished in the top 10 in CIF once again. They finished 5th out of a field of 70 teams represented. A special congratulations to Miguel Comparan 2nd place, Albert Garza 2nd place, Santi Rodriquez 3rd place, David Aldana 3rd place, and Omar Cruz 5th place. All of these wrestlers will be advancing to this weekend's CIF Masters Championships with a chance of qualifying for the State Finals. Please recognize these wrestlers if you have them in class.
